The Orders of Red Star -
Duplicates, Mint Errors/Oversights, and others.

DUPLICATE ORDERS:
Orders of later type/variation with serial numbers of earlier type/variation.

With 'Дубликат' Engraved word "Дубликат" and S/N T6 HDa 12949 ©AT "Duplicate" Orders - orders, issued in exchange for lost or stolen awards. Such exchanges took place at different times, hence, the order issues in replacement, could be of any variation. Considering the sporadic nature of their emergence, we view duplicate orders as a single separate variation "D" ("Duplicate"), but with sub-variation, reflecting differences, specific to duplicate orders (like style of writing serial number, duplicate sign 'Д' and so on). In other words, order, described as "MHD" would be a duplicate, which is missing a 'Д' ("M"=MISSING), and serial number is hand-engraved ("H"=HAND_ENGRAVED).

ORDERS WITH MISSING MINTMARK:
Orders with either hand-engraved mintmark, or missing altogether.
ORDER DESCRIPTION Type Variation Example Comments
Mintmark Secondary differences Serial Number Pics
Without mintmark With screwpost base T4 M - - Absence of a mintmark on orders of T2-V1 ("Transitional") was mandatory, however, on all other orders missing mintmark would indicate a mint oversight, or so-called technological error. For such orders, their actual variations are irrelevant, as they could be observed in any variation. They should really be viewed as a single separate variation "M" (MISSING), and possibly "H", if the order was "caught" and manually corrected (HAND-ENGRAVED).

SPARE ORDERS:
Orders with serial numbers, that correspond to earlier type/variation.

Serial Number Pics
"Spare" type orders are those orders, which were made from the unnumbered orders of previous issues, or reusing earlier manufactured orders with minor factory defects (such as enamel defects, soldering defects, etc.), that were later corrected.
However:
- "spare" orders are always isolated, limited specimen event,
- "spare" only appears within runs of the same mint,
- "spare" comes up after several issues.
T4 S 458649 Reappearance of the late numbered orders with screwpost base is due to the fact that all of them undergone repairs of the screw, at the mint.

(!) Actual variations that "spare" orders are made from are irrelevant, as they could be observed in any variation. They should really be viewed as a single separate variation "S", but with sub-variations, just to reflect orders' base variation.
